The Ultra End

26 Apr

Since I have been working my tush off, I had no time this weekend to actually explore and play and get a chance to be creative with my camera. So I saved this post for days like this… when I had waited to long to update my blog and this was the only option. Although, I will admit it is not a bad one :)

So here, on this blog, on this day, I am posting the final edited photos from that wonderful, fistpump, of a weekend.. aka ULTRA Music Festival.

Booooooom!

Boston+Awesome = Bawesome

8 Mar

Jenna, that headline is for you!

I was in Boston all weekend to shoot a wedding. It was my first time in Beantown and I have to say, I had the most GRACIOUS host! My friend Jenna drove me around, and stopped whenever I wanted to photograph something! What photographer wouldn’t want to do that? And then on the following day, I had visited with family I had not seen in many years and got to meet a new baby cousin of mine (hence the super adorable baby picture headlining this blog post)!

Wedding pics to come, but in the meantime, here is Bawesome!

P to the ERU

25 Feb

It just so happens to be that when I travel, I have my camera in hand at all times. This sometimes makes it hard to travel with others since I am constantly behind the lens. I can’t help it. I love it. The world is a photograph :)

Peru 1

2 Feb

Excuse me for the delay in blog posts but I was away for the past 2 weeks in Peru. I was hired, by a very beautiful couple, to photograph their wedding and after that job was done, I took a little trip to a place called Machu Picchu. I made several stops along the way including, Lima, Cusco, Aguas Calientes, Sasqsayhuman, Piscas, Ollantaytambo… and a few other places I cannot pronounce, nor remember the spelling. All in all, it was a pretty strenuous and exhausting trip but well worth it.

It is always nice to step out of my comfort zone and get some creative rejuvenation. This post will be followed by 2 more post of Peru because there were too many I wanted to put!

Enjoy my trip… I know I did!

Temporary Update :)

17 Jan

It has been a while since I have updated my website in order to promote my business. With that being said, I threw together a little something to host a portfolio of my work until the new site is up and running (in February).

I am off this week to Peru, where I will be shooting a wedding and traveling to Machu Piccu, and cannot wait to see what I capture with my camera. It has been a while since I have explored and it is time for some creative and photographic rejuvenation! The posts that will follow upon my return I promise will be fantastic!

Oceans

20 Dec

When choosing what the subject for this weeks blog post would be, I started out editing photos from a recent trip to Key Largo (compliments of the Herzogs). It was a really beautiful day and the ocean was just so calm that I must have used all of my memory on it. Then after editing my favorite ocean photos from that day, I realized that I had a lot more ocean photos hidden in the most wonderful corners of my external hard so I began the quest for an ocean themed blog post. Here is what surfaced….

Glacial Water Pool Jumper

16 Nov

Last year when traveling in New Zealand, I met a man who was willing to jump into a pool of ice cold water in the name of ART. Picture this: I, Marisa, have a fantastic idea for a series of photographs… they involve wigs, traveling, and strangers. That is all I will give away bc it is still a work in progress.

So in order to get you, my blog reader, excited to see this series (although I am unsure when it will debut) I am posting this video. It is a series of out takes, not long, but awesome!

Thanks Alex for being a brave glacial water pool jumper!

The Ballerina

25 Oct

Every little girl wants to be a ballerina. If you were one of the little girls (or boys) who didn’t, after watching Joelle Ashley perform, you are likely to change your mind. I have known Joelle for as long as I can remember but only recently became reacquainted with her. She is a talented musician, an excellent dancer, I haven’t seen her acting skills but I am sure they are great, and all around wonderful creatively driven chick. So these photos are inspired by her and her amazing ballet skills. Thanks Joelle!

Follow her on twitter at MissJoelleA and on Facebook at MissJoelleAshley

Enjoy… I did!

Matisyahu

17 Oct

.

As I continued to unpack in my new place, and pondered what to put on my blog last night, my mind started drifting back to the time I lived in Israel. So I decided to pull out one of my older hard drives and look at photos. I spent some time reminiscing with myself and then I came across these photos I took of Matisyahu when I went to see him perform in Tel Aviv.

You (my blog reader) may notice that I have quite a number of musicians on here. I just love to photograph my concert escapades. To me, music is very inspiring and I tend to listen to it most of the time. So anyway, back to Matisyahu…
